When God Says "No" | 21 Days of Prayer: Day 20

Let's deal with a rarely spoken truth concerning prayer -- when God says "no." In fact, there are scriptures we stand on in prayer that say the opposite:
John 15:7 (NLT): 7 But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted!
2 Corinthians 1:20 (NLT): 20 For all of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding “Yes!” And through Christ, our “Amen” (which means “Yes”) ascends to God for his glory.
1 John 5:14–15 (NLT): 14 And we are confident that he hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases him. 15 And since we know he hears us when we make our requests, we also know that he will give us what we ask for.
Every "no" is not a never but a possible "not yet." It's not that God is saying "no" because He doesn't want us to have the desires of our heart, but remember our prayers must align to His purpose and His plan for our lives. If we respond properly to the "no", it will shape our hearts to align to the heart of God and manifest a bigger "YES!"
There are times in our lives where God is protecting us from things we did not even know to pray against. I’ve learned it’s easy to get excited when God says “yes” to what we have been praying for but what about having the same excitement for the things God says “no” to. I dare you to thank God for all the things He blocked that you didn’t even know you didn’t want.
