Triggers, Part 2

It is of utmost importance to live our lives in a way that understands that we will be triggered at the most unexpected times. Refusing to believe that you are susceptible to triggers will increase your chances of falling prey to temptations that are only tricks that lead you to a treat that is nested with a trap.

 

What causes my triggers—the actual event or my reaction to the event? The answer is both. While we cannot undo what has happened, we can do something about our reaction.

Triggers

Triggers are a part of life. It is important to remain mindful to never burn bridges, you never know if it will be a pathway you have to take in the future. Every one of us is called by God to be leaders in our life. People can forgive almost every type of transgression made by a leader - except one - losing your cool. We must acknowledge when are triggered and commit to living an authentic life that recognizes when we are triggered but operates with the presence of mind to not let one moment of being triggered to set off consequences filled with a lifetime of regret.

Picking Up The Pieces

When we hold on to the negative others have done, we hold up what God has already provided for us – the blessings intended to accomplish our purpose. Whatever we are not able to let go, we are being held prisoner by the thought of it. Living with a broken heart makes us more prone to living in isolation. Sheep are never attacked in herds. Sheep are attacked when they become isolated from the rest of the flock.
